On January 17, 2017, Mr. Xie Jianzhong, Chairman of the EU-China Commission, and his party arrived in Turkey for a nearly half-month visit.

On January 23rd, Mr. Xie Jianzhong and his entourage discussed the Belt and Road cooperation matters with the Minister of Energy, Minister of Homeland Security and Turkey's most well-known companies.

On January 26, the Minister of the New Energy Committee directly led by the Turkish President and Prime Minister met with Mr. Xie Jianzhong and his party to discuss energy cooperation matters. Under the witness of the minister, Mr. Xie Jianzhong, on behalf of China, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Turkerler, the top five Turkish company, at the Ankara Marriott Hotel.
